Orphan Tome: Rush to Release

Orphan Tome: Rush to Release is a large scale indie game made by a team of 4 core developers and a ton of external artists and contributors, most of us being college students looking for a job in the industry (at the time).

In this first person, puzzle solving, speed runner, time loop game, play as a ghost hunter as you discover, explore and get trapped in a haunted abandoned orphanage. 

Follow the clues and written notes scattered around to solve puzzles and decipher locks. Keep track of all your discoveries in a journal as you uncover the past of this establishment. As the spiritual presence grows with every moment, you may find yourself face to face with a friendly spirit... or the demon that led this place to ruin.

With every attempt to escape the purgatory, you may gain abilities to help your progress, shortening the time you take to get to the end. Finding the shortest route to freedom will be your top priority with every unlocked door and new discovery.

This game is a long, immersive and progressive experience. The more you play, the more will be revealed to you, but it may take some time.

AI Disclosure
A single image was made with generative AI, the portrait of the director.
The image has then been heavily modified and altered with digital painting techniques and overlays of an artist's drawing, but the base remains.

I do not like that this was the process used. For context it was at a stage where AI was shiny and new. It was used out of curiosity and with a very tight time deadline on a student/school project.
I am not proud of it. Ideally it does not tarnish the hard work of the art and development team within the rest of the game. Feel free to sigh and cringe every time you see the portrait (even on the promo image).
